On Wednesday 19th October 2022, Mumbai police received a ‘suspicious’ call, where the caller identity was not defined.

The department received the call on the Police helpline Number 112, informing that 3 bombs are being placed at several key places of the city.

The Bomb Threat call received from the unidentified caller lead the Police to get more vigilant & alerts were issued.

According to the Mumbai Police, the identified caller claimed that, 3 bombs have been planted across the city at Infinity Mall Andheri, PVR Mall Juhu and Sahara Hotel Airport.

The police have strengthened the security at the targeted places and attempts are being undertaken to nab the unidentified caller.

Similar incident was witnessed in April 2022 in Karnataka, a school received Bomb threat through e-mail amid the hijab row.

Six other schools too received bomb threat mails, hours after that. The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Mr. Basavaraj Bommai had then asked the top police officials to probe the matter adding a conspiracy is on to disturb peace in the state.

“A conspiracy is on to disturb peace in the state. Karnataka is a progressive State and some elements are repeatedly trying to tarnish this image. Police officials have been instructed to consider these cases seriously,” Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said in his statement.

The Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Eknath Shinde, said reacting to the bomb threat calls on schools that, the police have checked thoroughly and the caller would be traced and caught. Effective measures regarding the security and investigation would be taken.
