Gladful, a food and beverages startup bags INR 50 lakh in Shark Tank India Season 2. The startup raised this investment from three of the well-known entrepreneurs in the country. They are Amit Jain(Co-founder and CEO of CarDekho), Aman Gupta(Co-founder and CMO of boAt) and Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals). The sharks showed interest in the product as the product was for a societal cause. Besides, the founders of the startup diluted 3.5% of the company in exchange for INR 50 lakhs.

Set up in 2021, Gladful is an Indian high-protein snack brand that is on a mission to solve protein deficiency in India. The founders of this FSSAI-approved brand are Parul Sharma and Manu Sharma. Additionally, Gladful aims to bridge the protein gap among children in India. It aims to grow and resolve the protein deficiency issue among children in the country. Furthermore, Gladful also aims to build a 500 Crore functional food brand by 2026 in India. 

Gladful Raises Rs 50 Lakh on Shark Tank India

This Jaipur-based startup’s target market is Indian families and their children. Gladful offers multiple numbers of products that are rich in protein and easy to consume foods. Its portfolio includes millets, sprouts, amaranth, brown rice and lobia, etc. In addition to this, the startup also offers high-protein cookies, dates and nut-based desserts.

Gladful receives backing from multiple angel investors and HNIs like Shantanu Deshpande (Bombay Shaving), Ankita Vasisht (Strongher Ventures) and Pawan Nanda (Winzo Games). Apart from this, Gladful is also backed by a few Venture capital firms which include backing from Antler India, Huddle and Shiprocket. This FMCG brand aims to cross 15 crores in FY23 with the support of its main offerings( High Protein foods). Along with this, the startup also plans to expand its distribution in quick commerce to increase its sales.

Apart from this, Gladful started its journey with 3 SKUs. Presently, it operates with 14 SKUs in all three categories.

India has always been a nation of delicious foods and tastes. However, 73% of the Indian urban population suffers from protein deficiency. They lack enough proteins. Generally, high-end protein food brands target especially gym enthusiasts. On the other hand, Gladful focuses on providing sufficient protein for Indian families and their children.

Not just for athletes, high protein foods are essential for every human being.
