FreshBus, an EV bus startup has raised INR 26 Crore in a seed funding round from the travel tech platform Ixigo. This raise is the maiden raise for the company.

This Bengaluru-based startup plans to use the funds for the launch of its premium intercity electric buses. Furthermore, the startup also plans to elevate its operations to offer 1000 buses across the country by 2026.

FreshBus will run its services simultaneously from Hyderabad to Bengaluru. The startup will first launch its services with 24 electric buses. Additionally, the company is planning to start its first working routes in March 2023.

This Bengaluru-based EV startup is on a mission to bring revolution to the EV industry. It aims to offer affordable, convenient, futuristic and eco-friendly buses across the country. With this launch of premium Intercity buses, the startup wants to enhance the bus travel experience of the masses.

FreshBus offerings are significantly innovative as compared to other players. The platform will operate on a full-stack business model. Additionally, the startup plans to deliver services like noise-free cabins, air-conditioned cabins, comfortable seating and friendly support staff etc.

Besides, FreshBus will also provide services like security CCTV, personal charging, Wifi and alcohol checks in the smart bus platform.

Set up in 2019 by Sudhakar Reddy Chirra, FreshBus is a technology-enabled platform that aims to enhance the travel experience of users. It is a one-stop platform for travellers for booking, find and tracking intercity buses through its app or website.

Sudhakar Reddy Chirra is an Indian entrepreneur who has been working in the technology-led industry for the last 15 years. He is a global tech leader who earlier created and scaled Abhibus. 

Undoubtedly, the market size for intercity buses is $20 Billion and is growing each day.

The EV industry has seen significant growth in recent months. Due to this reason, VCs and HNIs have eagerly invested in EV-based startups. 

FreshBus claims to bring in an alternative to traditional intercity buses. It aims to diversify the offerings in the smart bus platform.
