The streaming service platform has planned to launch a cheaper subscription with ad-supported version in November.

Netflix’s latest plan, Basic with Ads will be launched in US with 11 other countries like, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Netflix’s current basic plan costs $9.99 per month. Whereas, the Basic with Ads costs $ 6.99 which is $3 cheaper than the current plan.

The ad tier Subscribers can stream the platform on one device at a time with High Definition video quality of 720p for both plans. The basic with ad and no ad subscription.

The subscribers have to watch 4-5 minutes ad for every 1 hour streaming on the platform, while the newly released films will have relatively less ads to maintain the cinematic flow.

5-10% of the content present on Netflix, will be unavailable for the ad based plan depending on the country.

The streaming platform has lost 200K subscribers in the 1st quarter of the year 2022, which further decreased from then, that brought the total number from 221.8 Million to 221.6 million in 1st quarter of the year to 220.67 Million subscribers in 2nd quarter of 2022 with 1 Million Subscribers backing out from US & Canada, which have caused the company’s shares to drown.

The platform has partnerships with the Integral Ad Science (IAS), to view verified ads and not the ones exhibiting mature content, violence, aggression, with which the platform wishes to reach 4.4 million subscribers worldwide, for the new plan to be launched, by the end of this year.
