Zomato-owned Blinkit is planning to launch its new vertical in the market. This vertical will deal with services like plumbing, electrician, beautician and electronic repairs. Basically, it will offer home-based services like Urban Company. 

Furthermore, this move of the company is with the intend to increase its revenue streams. 

The expected details about the vertical are not yet out in the market. However, it will be known to the public in the coming weeks. There’s still confusion about its platform, whether it will merge with Blinkit app or whether any new application will be made.

This new vertical of Blinkit will face direct competition with Urban Company. Both the companies, Blinkit and Urban Company provide similar services. Additionally, this Zomato-owned company is planning to deliver the services within 10-15 Mins.

Blinkit will launch its new vertical with a full workforce. It has made a new team consisting of existing as well as new employees. 

About Blinkit

Set up in 2013, Blinkit is an instant delivery service provider. It was formerly known as Grofers. Its founders are Albinder Dhindsa and Saurabh Kumar. Currently, the parent company of this fast delivery platform is Zomato. Zomato acquired Blinkit on 24th June 2022 in an all-stock deal.

Apart from all the above-mentioned details, Blinkit has seen tremendous growth in the third quarter of FY22. The company is growing as it sees 21% year-on-year growth.

However, other quick commerce services are failing and are struggling with high cash burn.
