Paytm founder travelled in a cycle-rickshaw to UP CM’s bungalow


Maniram, the rickshaw puller who took Vijay Shekhar to the CM’s residence was awarded with cash, a residential quarter and an e-rickshaw

Even though Diwali is two days in future but it was Thursday for what was to become Diwali for rickshaw puller Maniram when he reached Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s official residence at 5 Kalidas Marg. Maniram’s passenger was none other than paytm’s  CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma who was honored with the Yash Bhartiya Award a few days back.

Actually Vijay Shekhar was on his way to meet CM Akhilesh Yadav but his car got stuck in a tremendous traffic jam. In such a situation, there was only one option left for him to arrive timely for the meeting – Rickshaw. Vijay Shekhar reached the CM’s residence by riding on Maniram’s rickshaw.

CM Akhilesh Yadav spoke of this incident on his Twitter account by sharing a picture and writing that a traffic jam caused paytm’s CEO to reach his official residence riding on a rickshaw. The traffic problem will be solved as soon as the Lucknow metro starts.

Maniram, a resident of Tiloi, Raibareli was interrogated when he reached CM’s official residence. He was asked questions related to his family and children, his per day earning and where he lives in Lucknow. Two hours later, when Maniram left the residence, he had been richer than ever before. He received six thousand rupees in cash, a new rickshaw on CM’s order, a socialist pension for his wife, an e-rickshaw and a residential quarters in Lucknow.

“I sat smoking near Kalidas Maarg when a passenger called me. I had no idea about his identity. I though that i will drop him outside the CM’s residence but he asked me to take him inside the bungalow. There i saw Mr. Akhilesh Yadav and was told everything.
