Dialysis service provider NephroPlus announced the acquisition of DaVita Care India, which runs kidney care centers, for an undisclosed amount.

DaVita Care India Pvt. Ltd. owns and operates a network of dialysis and kidney care centers that provide care for acute and end-stage renal disease patients in India.
With this acquisition, NephroPlus has taken over DaVita Care India’s (an arm of US-based DaVita Inc) network of 22 centres. Nephroplus would further strengthen its servicing capacity and would have a presence in 18 states of India with 176 centers across 97 cities with 2,700 employees.
NephroPlus has 154 dialysis centres in 92 cities across India would foray into global markets and open about 20 centres over the next one year in two countries in South East Asia and Middle East, NephroPlus Founder and CEO Vikram Vuppala said.
While India is a good market for dialysis care, South East Asia and the West Asian countries have price points which are two to eight times higher than those in India. India dialysis care costs ₹2-3 lakh per patient, Vuppala added.

NephroPlus has earlier raised Rs 200 crore in series A, B and C funding and is in the process of raising series D funding in the range of Rs 130-150 crore for its international expansion through existing and new investors soon.
