FlyRobe raises $5.2M in Series A funding round from IDG Ventures India and two others


FlyRobe is developing a mobile app based platform for apparel and accessories rental

FlyRobe is an online fashion rental  start-up founded in 2015 by Shreya Mishra, Pranay Surana and Tushar Saxena, owned by Omapal Technologies Pvt. Ltd has raised $5.2 million in a Series A funding round led by IDG Ventures India, Gree Ventures and existing investor Sequoia Capital.

Other investors in the firm include Snapdeal founders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Freecharge founders Kunal Shah and Sandeep Tandon, and Zishaan Hayath, founder of Toppr.

As of Jan 2016, FlyRobe claims to have transacted with 1,000+ customers, and closed 2015 with 100 customers on a single day. Claims to have partnered with designer labels like Outhouse, Masaba Gupta, Ritu Kumar and Shehla Khan.

The funds will be used to expand to 5 more cities including Hyderabad, Bangalore, as well as to strengthen its technology, product and business teams. Flyrobe is currently operational in Delhi and Mumbai.
