Total Energy Ventures acquires stake in Autogrid, a Big data & analytics company

AutoGrid develops digital solutions to manage and optimize energy supplied to and from the power grids.

AutoGrid’s suite of Energy Internet applications allows utilities, electricity retailers, renewable energy project developers and energy service providers to deliver cheap, clean and reliable energy by managing networked distributed energy resources (DERs) in real time and at scale.

It has raised an undisclosed amount in Series C funding round led by Total Energy Ventures. Total said the funding was intended to finance California-based Autogrid's expansion.

The company was founded in 2010 by Amit Narayan, Founder & CEO at AutoGrid Systems.

AutoGrid applications built on the AutoGrid Energy Data Platform (EDP), with patented Predictive Control technology leverages petabytes of smart meter, sensor and third-party data, along with data science and high-performance computing algorithms, to monitor, predict, optimize and control the operations of millions of assets connected across global energy networks.

AutoGrid technology is also embedded in software products from leading vendors, such as Schneider Electric, Silver Spring Networks, and NTT Data.
