Samsung will be offering Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in lieu of pre-ordered Galaxy Note 7 devices in India

Samsung will now be offering alternative smartphones to Indian customers who had pre-ordered Galaxy Note 7. The decision was taken to please disappointed customers and to win their loyalty again.
The world's biggest phone making company recently had to curb manufacturing of Galaxy Note 7 devices due to heating issues. The phones were found to be fire-prone which led to negative publicity of the company. The smartphone market of India is the largest growing market in the world. Samsung today rules the Indian market with a total of 25 percent share.
The device went on sale in India in September but the company failed to resolve its overheating problem following which the company had to arrive at this crucial decision. The company has apologized to customers who pre-ordered Galaxy Note 7. On Friday, the company offered alternative devices, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge to those who have pre ordered the phone.
Samsung also offered its customers with freebies like headsets, wireless headphones and vouchers worth $50. The company also offered a free of cost one time screen replacement service on the new smartphones. The company says, "We can confirm that contrary to these reports, we are headed for record sales of mobile phones this year".
Samsung also said that due to the discontinuation of Galaxy Note 7, the company expected its operating profit to be affected by $3 billion in the coming two quarters.
