If something is rare in the startup world, it’s the women founders. Around 97% of the founders are men who get funded and whose ideas are heard.

Mashable’s media partner Project Entrepreneur is launching a contest to eliminate this gap.

The UBS backed initiative will host a venture competition for women entrepreneurs. The competition says, “Project Entrepreneur is on a mission is to increase the number of women building high-growth, economically impactful companies,” and asks women, "What will you build?"

One of the attendee at Austin Summit of the competition said that to create a startup is a “Leap of Faith” and to make it fruitful women founders need guidance and support.

The Project Entrepreneur is looking for good business ideas and will reward the best one with $10,000 grant, one year mentorship and an accelerator program.
