In a bizarre twist of events,
Motorola Lenovo has managed to port Android 7.0 Nougat to its mid-range smartphones, the G4 and G4 Plus, before any other Android device
Bangalore, 21st Oct., 2016, Red Newswire/-
Motorola was a company that has always been on the edge when it comes to software. May it be its flagship smartphone or just a mif-tier one, Moto gave its users the latest and greatest. And when it got acquired by Lenovo a while back, most people thought this trend would fade away.
Luckily for us, the newly acquired Moto is still giving us speedy upgrades to the latest OS, even more so than Google itself. Google, the mothership of Android, the creator of the OS, the company that is all- powerful when it comes to Android, itself was struggling upgrade its own Nexus 9 LTE and original N6 to 7.0 Nougat a couple of weeks ago. Even more painful was the fact that the Nexus 6P was stuck with 6.0 Marshmallow until early September.
Seeing this, most speculators believed that Android OEMs would take so much longer to port the new OS’s onto their devices. Surprisingly, however,
Motorola Lenovo has done it again. We have got a super-fast Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade for the Moto G4 and G4 Plus. This might be a shock for some seeing as the update hasn’t even hit the flagship Moto Z line yet. But we’re not complaining.
The new update brings in an awesome set of new features as well as performance and user-experience enhancements. You can read the full changelog that the company has provided right here.
While Moto phones are going to be boosted to Android Nougat, other OEMs including LG, Samsung, Sony, HTC and OnePlus and even Google are days, weeks or even months away from bringing the OS to their devices.
