HDFC Bank has developed a  interactive humanoid IRA (Intelligent Robotic Assistant) in partnership with Asimov Robotics

HDFC Bank bring in humanoid in partnership with a startup Asimov Robotics based up in Kochi. The humanoid has been deployed at their Kamla Mills branch in Mumbai which will guide customers to the various counters like cash deposit, foreign exchange & loan among others.

The IRA communication language will be English as of now. Nitin Chugh, the country head, digital banking at HDFC Bank, said that they will take the decision of IRA’s deployment in other branches across the country based on the feedback from the customers.

In the first phase IRA greets customers and guide them to various counters. In the next phase IRA’s capabilities will be made more advanced by introducing features such as voice and face recognition for customer identification, voice-guided navigation, balance enquiry, cheque deposit among others.
