GlamStudios, a chain of branded budget salons, recently launched to offer premium beauty services at affordable rates. The company is creating a tech-driven chain of budget salons through aggregation, standardisation and brand association.
Its raised angel investment from Aqeel Ahmed, ex-COO of Rategain, andGlamStudios was conceptualised in October 2015. The company is founded by Sadiya Naseem, an ex-member of Oyorooms leadership team and an IIM-C alumna.
The founding team comprises a CTO from IIT Delhi and COO from NIFT Delhi. The trio share a common vision of making high quality and standardised beauty services affordable and available to the woman next door.
The chain currently has 10 operational salons across NCR and is running high on its spate of success, having serviced 150 clients and sold 200 yearly memberships on its first day of operations.
Sadiya Naseem, founder and CEO of GlamStudios said, “We have received an amazingly positive response from both parlours and customers, and are planning to activate 30 salons and creating a customer base of 5000 within the next three months.”
Salons as small as 500 square feet can signup as GlamStudios without any capital expenditure. “We are neither competing with on demand home services, nor with other organised salon chains, because their offerings are mass premium to premium, while our services are extremely affordable, yet come with high service standards. As the industry is evolving remarkably, our company is uniquely poised to tap into this fast-growing opportunity”, added Sadiya.
The company brings about a two-fold standardisation in the operational processes of salons that signup – firstly infrastructural and aesthetic changes to the property to brand them as GlamStudios as well as train its staff, and secondly offering its CRM software to fully automate the operations and quality-of-services rendered.
The salons are bookable for customers through the website www.glamstudios.in and an upcoming mobile application. The startup is also working on a unified beauty services platform which addresses salon, booking and customer relationship management.
