CropIn raises $2M funding from Denmark’s Sophia Investment

CropIn connects various stake holders in agri businesses by putting up a network of ERP and BI solutions

CropIn Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd is a Bangalore-based company that makes farm management software and apps, has raised $2 million in Series A funding round from Denmark’s Sophia Investment ApS, a person people privy to the development.

The transaction valued the company at $12 million, the person said, asking not to be named.

CropIn allows interaction between farmers and farm managers. The solution is cloud based. It helps Clientele include Pepsi Co, ITC, Mahindra & Mahindra.

The company was founded in 2010 by Krishna kumar, founder and CEO of CropIn. Kunal Prasad is the Co-founder & COO of the company.

This is the first investment by Sophia Investment in India.Sophia Investment. CropIn Technology plans to use the money to hire staff in the marketing, operations and technology segments. Besides, it plans to develop its ‘SmartFarm’ application for real-time monitoring and management of farm operations.
