Ministry of Defence approves Rs.40,000 crore- defense deal with Russia

Ministry of Defence has approved a defence deal of Rs. 40.000 crore with Russia. The decision was taken under Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) chaired by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. The deal would be the highlight of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia.
S-400 missiles are capable to find and attack the fighter jets and missiles from 400 km. away. If the deal becomes verity, India will be the second nation having this system after China. The system has stealth technology also. S-400 missiles are twice stronger than S-300 missiles which we have now.
Defence Acquisition Council has declared the procurement of 6 additional Pinaka Multi Barrel Rocket Launch Systems (MRLS) for Rs.14,600 crore, to be jointly built by TATA Power Company Ltd(TPCL), Bharat Earth Movers Ltd(BEML)and Larsen & Turbo(L&T) for six regiments of Army. Each regiment will get 18 Rocket Launching Systems.
Defence Rsearch & Development Organisation had been asked to make new researches about Pinaka rockets. Army will get 571 light bullet- proof vehicles of Rs. 310 crore.
PM’s visit to Russia will begin next week.
