As the time is passing by, the Chennai floods are taking much worse turns, submerging houses, buildings across the city. With power grids shut down, no shelter and food, the residents are stranded.

But, many Samaritans have come forward to aid the people of Chennai. The best thing is that people are not alone in this, even companies are coming forward to offer help to those in need.

Uber has declared through twitter that it will be providing free rides in Chennai for today and tomorrow. Uber also insisted to people to keep trying as the traffic on the app will be high. Deepak Sridhar of Uber took to twitter to announce this and he also asked Chennai people to maintain safety.

Uber announced this shortly after people of Chennai complained on twitter regarding unavailability of the cabs.

Other companies like Zomato have also been running Meal Relief Delivery Service in the affected area along with Paytm who offered free recharge.
